Who We Are

Vietnam Ship Services Company (VNS) is a marine services and ship repair company based in Vietnam, supporting foreign vessels calling at Vietnamese ports and anchorages. Founded in 2015, VNS is headquartered in Ho Chi Minh City, with a branch office in Hai Phong, giving us the reach to serve shipowners, ship managers, operators, and agents from the south to the north of the country.

Our team of engineers, technicians, and marine coordinators works directly with clients on every job. There are no unnecessary layers between the request and the people carrying it out.

This approach has given us more than a decade of operating experience. Today, our team includes 15 engineers and technicians and covers 20+ ports and anchorages nationwide.

What sets VNS apart is not size but consistency. We have deliberately stayed a lean, focused team rather than expanding into a large, layered organization. That means the engineer who scopes a job is often the same person coordinating it on-site. This keeps communication direct and decisions fast — something that matters when a vessel is working against a tight port schedule.

What We Do

VNS handles the full cycle of technical support a vessel needs while calling at a Vietnamese port — from a quick inspection to a full repair scope, coordinated so the vessel loses as little time as possible.

Drydock & Afloat Ship Repair

Hull, structural, and machinery repairs at drydock or directly afloat, allowing work to proceed while minimizing disruption to the vessel’s schedule. We plan each job around the vessel’s port window, not the other way around.

Main engine & auxiliary engine overhaul

Reconditioning of engine spares and components across a wide range of engine makes and models, carried out by technicians with hands-on experience on the specific systems involved rather than generic mechanical work.

Underwater inspection services

Hull inspection, underwater survey, and hull cleaning by qualified divers, including underwater surveys carried out in lieu of drydocking (UWILD) where class permits it — which can help reduce the need for a costly and time-consuming drydock visit where permitted.

Navigation and communication equipment

We provide annual maintenance, testing, and calibration to keep navigation and communication systems compliant and functioning correctly. This helps reduce the risk of deficiencies during port state control inspections.

LSA & FFA services

Servicing, testing, and certification of lifesaving appliances and fire-fighting equipment in line with SOLAS requirements, handled on a schedule that fits around the vessel’s other port calls.

Marine services at ports and anchorages

Technical support, spare parts supply, and coordination services at ports and anchorages across Vietnam.

Every job is scoped, quoted, and scheduled with one aim: returning the vessel to full operational readiness as quickly and safely as the work allows.

Our Service Coverage

VNS mobilizes at seaports and anchorages the length of Vietnam’s coastline, not just at one or two major hubs. Vietnam has commercial ports and anchorages spread across three regions, and a vessel calling at a smaller or more remote terminal deserves the same response speed as one calling at a major hub like Cai Mep or Hai Phong.

Southern Vietnam: Vung Tau, Cai Mep, Phu My, Go Gia, Ho Chi Minh City

Central Vietnam: Cam Ranh, Nha Trang, Vinh Tan, Dung Quat, Da Nang

Northern Vietnam: Nghi Son, Son Duong, Vissai, Hai Phong, Cai Lan, Hon Gai, Ha Long, Cam Pha, Hon Net

Whether a vessel is alongside, working cargo, or waiting at anchorage, our team can reach the job — and because we have covered these locations repeatedly over the years, mobilization is rarely a first-time exercise.

Why Choose VNS

Shipowners and managers calling at Vietnamese ports are usually working against a schedule, and every extra day off-hire has a cost. That is the problem VNS is built to solve.

We respond quickly to requests. Our technicians and spare parts can typically be mobilized on short notice from our two offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong. We have teams positioned in both the south and north of Vietnam. This reduces response time when a request comes from a port far from our head office.

Our experience working with harbor masters, port authorities, immigration, and customs helps reduce paperwork delays. It also helps keep approvals moving across different ports in Vietnam. This is not a small thing in Vietnam, where procedures can vary from one port to another — having people who already understand the local process at each location saves real time on every job.

We also work directly with ship owners, managers, and operators rather than through multiple intermediaries, which keeps communication clear: upfront quotations, realistic timelines, and regular updates so you always know where a job stands. When something changes mid-job — a part takes longer to source, weather delays diving work — we tell you immediately rather than letting you find out when the invoice arrives.

For vessels that need continuous support while in Vietnamese waters, our team is set up to respond around the clock, because breakdowns and urgent repair needs rarely wait for business hours.

Our Commitment

Since 2015, VNS has worked on one priority: helping foreign vessels complete essential repairs and technical services safely, efficiently, and with as little disruption to their schedule as possible. That has meant building genuine experience with ship owners, managers, and operators from around the world, one job at a time — not just claiming it.

We stand behind that work with clear communication, realistic timelines, and a team that treats every vessel’s schedule as its own. As Vietnam’s port traffic continues to grow, our aim is to keep that same standard of responsiveness regardless of how much larger our workload becomes.
